Personal Presentation Training - Major company providing Residential
Care facilities
Background
When a successful national company added a large number of new care
homes to their portfolio, they were keen to examine the best market
placement for their properties.
A programme of refurbishment and re-modelling of the newly acquired
homes made them more appealing to clients in the private care market.
The management realised excellent personal presentation of each
care home manager was a key factor in the success of this project.
Many were from a nursing background with little experience of portraying
themselves as business professionals. The company considered a significant
number had presentation issues which needed to be addressed if the
overall business strategy was to succeed.
Solution
Initially, Public i proposed a series of ‘personal presentation
training’ workshops for managers whose homes were being refurbished,
subsequently ‘rolling out’ to the whole company.
Result
Delegates loved the training, giving excellent feedback. They were
able to demonstrate new skills immediately with their own wardrobe
and personal impact. The development of a checklist for the homes
themselves, has added to the confidence of managers and provided
a good ‘snagging tool’. Regional Managers reported great
improvements in the appearance of some managers, which resulted
in training sessions for Regional Managers too!
Some managers said that they had been apprehensive about training
and felt they couldn’t spare the time from their busy lives.
These are some of the comments received after the training.
“I really felt it was the last thing I needed but I’ve
had a fantastic day and feel much more confident!”
“The best day’s training I’ve ever had”.
“I thought I was going to get criticised about my appearance
but it’s nothing like that, I felt completely supported”.
“Can’t wait to start on my new image”.
