Sales Training – major high street chain store
Background & Need
This well-known high street chain store was introducing a complete
new range of designer women’s wear and wanted to ensure maximum
success for the project by adding ‘something extra’.
That added value was to be achieved by training the staff working
in these sections of the store to be able to give knowledgeable
advice not only on the range itself, but also on which items would
be suitable to individual customers.
Solution
Public i proposed a series of local and regional training workshops
of a day each in duration for up to twelve delegates. The training
objectives were to enable staff to sell the right clothes in the
right shapes, colours and styles to the right people. To aid and
complement this process, the staff also received training in how
to achieve credibility for themselves in their own look.
Result
The staff greatly enjoyed the training and were able to demonstrate
their new skills immediately with their own wardrobe and personal
impact. The added value offered by the store in this new range was
included in the store’s public relations material and featured
in various newspaper and magazine articles.
The training was subsequently adapted and introduced for staff
at the same store prior to the introduction to their new make-up
range.
